At HEIRA, we are dedicated to sustainability and responsible practices within the fashion industry. Our commitment begins with our leather supplier, Europe’s first LWG (Leather Working Group) Gold Certified facility, ensuring that our leather is produced using environmentally sound methods. This certification guarantees responsible water management, the banning of toxic chemicals, clean energy usage, and proper waste management, significantly minimizing our ecological footprint.
In addition to sourcing sustainable materials, we practice on-demand production, creating garments only when there is a direct need. This method dramatically reduces waste and excess inventory, conserving resources while aligning with our commitment to environmental responsibility.
​WHY LEATHER? Leather is known for its durability, which can lead to longer-lasting products. When cared for properly, leather goods can last for many years, reducing the need for frequent replacements and contributing to a more sustainable consumption model. When cared for properly, leather items can age beautifully and remain functional for decades, making them a sustainable choice that emphasizes longevity and quality over fast fashion.
On the other hand, we use eco-friendly linings made from sustainable viscose fiber derived from renewable wood sources, produced through an environmentally friendly process that minimizes the impact of typical viscose production on the planet.
